My Favorite is Violet Tricolor |
||
Violet
grows everywhere. It is annual or biennial plant from the family Violaceae
(from Latin). It may be 15-40 cm. The stem is ribbed, four ribbed,
ascendant, slightly feathery. The flowers are rather big, single, uneven,
and are arranged on the long bent flower-bearing stems. Corolla consists
of five uneven petals that are longer than the flower cup. The color
of the plant is very diverse: two top petals are dark violet or blue,
the side ones are white and yellow. The central part of the plant is
colored in orange and yellow. The flower cup looks like five lanceolate
leaves and in the bottom it has sharp growths. The violet is in blossom
for a long time – from April till late August or even September
(it depends on the region). There are flowers, buds, and green seeds
in the end of blossom. |
